Forty Years After Combahee

This time next week I’ll be presenting a paper at the annual NWSA conference in Baltimore. The conference theme is “Forty Years After Combahee: Feminist Scholars and Activists Engage the Movement for Black Lives.” There’s an incredible line-up of speakers, from Angela Davis and Alicia Garza to Chandra Mohanty, Kimberle Crenshaw, Gina Dent, and Tara Houska. –I’m especially excited to hear Cathy Cohen reflect back on “Punks, Bulldaggers, and Welfare Queens: The Radical Potential of Queer Politics?”(GLQ 3  1997 pp 437-465.)

Information about the conference can be found at nwsa.org
